Installers
The installer role
An installer account is meant for professional companies that set up and look after their customers' alarm systems. On top of its own panels it can:
- create customer accounts (under Management),
- set up panels directly in the customer's account (when adding a panel: "For which user?"),
- fully manage its customers' systems – configuration, rules, detectors, settings,
- all without knowing the customers' passwords.
In Management you see, per customer, how many panels they own and how many are assigned to them; a customer's detail page lists their systems and allows handing over more.
The usual handover flow
- Create the customer account (Management → create user) – the customer receives their credentials and sets their own password.
- Set up the panel choosing the customer as the owner – the customer thereby becomes the main user of their system.
- The customer operates their system themselves and can invite their own co-users; you keep support access as the installer.
Limits of installer access (privacy)
The installer manages the system fully – with one deliberate exception:
Installers do not see their customers' camera images by default. They can set up, rename and delete cameras (management) – the actual live views and snapshots remain reserved for the customer until the operator sets the approval on the installer account.
This preserves the customer's privacy even during ongoing support.
Panel passwords
If you change an alarm panel's password (System → Credentials), heed the interface's warning: this changes the panel's own login – if you change the account the Alarmanlagenmanager is connected with, the connection must be set up again.
Deleting customers
Deleting a customer account also removes all their registered panels from the portal (the physical systems remain untouched). Management asks for explicit confirmation before this step.
